Brisbane artist, Miles Hall is the winner of the fifth annual Sunshine Coast Art Prize announced last night at the Caloundra Regional Gallery. The gallery was abuzz for the gala opening event and the winner was thrilled with his entry, Splice (Pine Lime) earning him a $20,000 cash and residency prize.

Heading into its fourth year, The Sunshine Coast Art Prize has announced that this year’s judge will be acclaimed gallery director and philanthropist Philip Bacon. Phillip established the Philip Bacon Galleries in Brisbane in 1974. The gallery was housed in a converted tile warehouse and soon established itself as Brisbane’s leading commercial art gallery attracting national attention.
